Overall Purpose
Advises, initiates, develops and implements sound Human Resources systems, policies and procedures, so to achieve the organization’s vision and mission.
Duties
• Develops and implements the HR strategy in line with business strategy.
• Develops and reviews all human resources policies and procedures.
• Coordinates the communicates new and reviewed policies.
• Guides Management and staff in the correct application of policies and procedures.
• Adopts appropriate HR systems, policies, and procedures to cope with change.
• Trains direct subordinates on how to draft the Human Resources procedures and manuals.
• Advises Management and Staff on the correct interpretation and application of laws relating to the employment relationship.
• Assists in the resolving of complaints, disputes arising out of the employment relationship.
• Oversees and guides all forms of termination of employment contracts to ensure compliance with applicable regulations i.e., dismissals; retrenchments; resignations; retirements – normal, early and ill health
Qualifications
• Relevant social science degree is required.
• 5 years relevant work experience, of which 2 years must have been in a senior officer role.
