Overall Job Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the position will be a general manager role, responsible for the following among others:
- Develop and ensure compliance to a vibrant programming policy in accordance with the mission, vision and values of ZBC.
- Develop and implement the business plan for the station.
- Research programming trends, advising management and implementing appropriate programming goals and strategies.
- Plan the development of programs in collaboration with the Station Manager – Khulumani FM.
- Develop programmes that promote national culture and heritage of the Zimbabwean people.
- Craft strategies to ensure the station’s financial viability and growth.
- Develop and manage the budget for the station,
- Oversee the acquisition, implementation, maintenance and replacement of technology infrastructure,
- Organize and maintain an up-to-date programming and information systems database that supports service delivery and the Corporate Business Strategy,
- Interpret and apply the ZBC Editorial Codes and Policies for the station,
- Supervise employees at the station,
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Media Studies, Journalism, or Related Business Degree;
- A postgraduate degree such as an MBA or Related Business Masters will have an added advantage.
- 5 years relevant work experience, 2 years of which should have been at a managerial level, and experience in the broadcasting industry is an added advantage.
