Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and implements risk policies and procedures that align with the organization’s goals and objectives
- Develops and updates checklists & registers to identify, measure, monitor and control risk exposures.
- Consult with relevant departments to determine, quantify, and mitigate risks .
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of risk management strategies adopted by various departments and making recommendations thereon.
- Responsible for assessing metrics monitoring and reporting on the risk exposure and performance of the organization
- Proactively seek and recommend enhancements to processes and internal control systems.
- Monitors and identifies risks that affect TIMB reputation, goals and objectives and recommending risk reduction strategies
- Carries out dip stick assessments in all departments in preparation for Audit/ Regulatory inspections
- Analyses internal audit, fraud & loss reports and incident reports to establish trends and recommend initiatives to mitigate risks identified.
- Compiles risk reports on both internal and external developments and submits to the CEO.
- Leads risk management processes involved in the development of new products and services, systems and processes.
- Updates and consolidates the risk register / database and shares with management.
- Investigates root causes of operational risk and provide support to mitigate risk.
- Follow up on all issues raised by both internal and external auditors and ensure timely closure.
- Develops initiatives that foster capacity building of Management and the Board on Enterprise Risk Management.
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management/ Risk Management & Insurance.
- Certification to a professional body on risk management is an added advantage.
- Must be a member of a professional body.
- 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
