A non-profit making organisation in the area of Health seeks Board Members on a volunteer basis. Board members will be expected to volunteer their services.


Scope of Work


  • Promotes the vision and values of the organisation.
  • Sets the strategic direction of the organisation.
  • Monitors the implementation, achievement of results and impact.
  • Manages organizational operations effectively by the development, approval and implementation of relevant policies.
  • Ensures the organisation has the proper resources to fulfil its mission and objectives.
  • Participates in the resource mobilization for the organization.
  • Ensures the organisation meets its legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Participates in board meetings and sub-committees.
  • Appoints and reviews the performance of the Executive Director and Senior Management Team.

  • Ability to develop a broad-based view of issues and events and perceive their long-term impact.
  • Knowledge and awareness of impact of not-for-profit organizations in delivering health interventions.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to represent the organization externally.
  • Entrepreneurial, business minded and eager to put their enthusiasm to improve the quality, availability and access to care and treatment.
  • Commitment to empowering high-risk and vulnerable populations to adopt healthy lifestyle practices that reduce infection to different medical conditions.
  • A commitment to ensuring equity and diversity to address socio-cultural, religious, and legal barriers that increase vulnerability to infections and impede access to critical services in Zimbabwe.
  • Available to attend meetings.


Qualifications and Experience


  • Must be a holder of a Public Health / Epidemiology/ Bachelor of Medicine, or any Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in Law, Business Management, or any other relevant field.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in the above-related fields is an added advantage.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the NGO sector.
  • Registration with the relevant professional authority(ies) is required.
  • Experience in working within the MoHCC structures at management level is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in developmental capacity with local not-for-profit organizations is an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of and experience in dealing with donor-funded organizations is preferred.
