Purpose of the Position
The Coordinating Assistant will support the Coordinators in executing value chain research, sector analysis, and stakeholder engagement activities. The role requires a blend of technical analysis, organizational support, and stakeholder liaison to ensure smooth delivery of departmental objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Analytical & Research Functions
- Assist in conducting economic and industrial research on selected value chains and manufacturing sectors.
- Compile and analyse data on production, trade, investment, and competitiveness.
- Assist in preparing sector briefs, reports, and presentations for internal and external use.
- Support evidence-based policy advocacy through data-driven insights.
Administrative & Coordination Functions
- Provide backstopping support to the Value Chains and Sectors Coordinator.
- Assist in planning and organising departmental meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.
- Maintain accurate records of sector consultations, reports, and databases.
- Support communication and reporting between the organization and sector associations.
Stakeholder Engagement Functions
- Liaise with industry associations, government, and development partners on value chain initiatives.
- Support the facilitation of multi-stakeholder workshops and roundtables.
- Track and document stakeholder inputs into ongoing sector strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- A first degree in Economics.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to work with data, statistics, and economic indicators.
