Duties

Providing legal advisory services and guidance to all divisions and relevant stakeholders.

▪ Ensuring compatibility between newly introduced policies and the existing legal frameworks governing the operations and mandate of the Organisation.

▪ Drafting layman’s versions of proposed legislation for the Bank or amendments to existing laws governing the operations and mandate of

the Bank.

▪ Researching on contemporary issues affecting the operations of the

Bank and reviewing relevant legislation to identify and recommend on appropriate modifications or amendments.

▪ Providing company secretarial services and legal advice to the Bank and its subsidiaries, where applicable.

▪ Drafting, vetting, reviewing, negotiating and providing advice on the implementation of agreements, contracts and other formal

arrangements between the Company and third parties.

▪ Providing regular update reports to the Bank Secretary and Director for General Counsel as and when required.

▪ Ensuring that documents issued to external contacts are fully compliant with applicable legal provisions and quality control standards.

▪ Managing performance of the team through the Company’s performance reviewing    processes.

▪ Managing discipline and grievances within the team to create a

harmonious workplace relationship.

▪ Providing Board secretarial services and legal advice.

▪ Providing legal advice and ensuring procedural compliance during subsidiaries Board meetings.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

▪ Bachelor of Laws Degree

▪ Registered as a Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Zimbabwe

▪ A deep understanding of court systems, procedures and rules.

▪ Membership of Law Society of Zimbabwe

▪ 7 years’ relevant experience
