Controls the procurement process in accordance with the company’s procurement policy and procedures.
Identifies reliable sources of supply capable of rendering quality at time and place required.
Manages all importation modalities of foreign supplies to the organisation and also exports to the region ensuring that the clearing is done efficiently all the time.
Sets up economic order quantities and reorder levels to ensure efficiency.
Develops alternate sources of supply when the competition is not present.
Designs and issues the proper form of contract for different goods or services.
Develops and provides suppliers with appropriate materials specifications to ensure that there are no ‘out of specification’ materials rejections.
Prepares and issues requests for quotations or requests for bids documents.
Develops and maintains a supplier’s list.
Controls all correspondence with suppliers including potential suppliers.
Evaluate bids.
Qualifications:
Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management
A Professional qualification like CIPS or any other relevant course
Master’s Degree will be an added advantage
At least five years at a managerial position in Procurement and sourcing environment
