Database Administrator

Main Duties:

• Design, installation ,maintenance , configuration and support of all databases
• Monitor and maintain databases’ system health and security
• Implement replication to secondary databases
• Design backup and recovery plans for the databases, and have procedures and processes
• Ensure database account policy enforcement and management
• Provide end-to-end technical support and problem resolution
• Schedule and perform regular server maintenance
• Create database management procedures and capacity planning
• Evaluate data analysis models and procedures
• Ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading
• Ensure specialised data handling for unstructured data
• Participate in Group's cross-training program Optimize application performance through proactive maintenance (housekeeping).

Qualifications:

• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Oracle Certified Professional a must
• MS SQL database experience is an added advantage
• Experience in setting up and maintaining Database Security controls is an added advantage
• Experience in configuring and conducting Database backup and recovery procedures using different tools such as RMAN is an added advantage
• Knowledge of MySQL an added advantage
• Knowledge of Oracle RAC implementation and Grid infrastructure an added advantage
• Knowledge of Linux or Solaris Operating System an added advantage
• At least 3 years post qualification experience is a must.
• Knowledge of Hadoop, Apache Hive and Scala (Kafka, Apache Spark).
