Database Administrator

<p>Main Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Design, installation ,maintenance , configuration and support of all databases</li> <li>Monitor and maintain databases&rsquo; system health and security</li> <li>Implement replication to secondary databases</li> <li>Design backup and recovery plans for the databases, and have procedures and processes</li> <li>Ensure database account policy enforcement and management</li> <li>Provide end-to-end technical support and problem resolution</li> <li>Schedule and perform regular server maintenance</li> <li>Create database management procedures and capacity planning</li> <li>Evaluate data analysis models and procedures</li> <li>Ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading</li> <li>Ensure specialised data handling for unstructured data</li> <li>Participate in Group&#39;s cross-training program Optimize application performance through proactive maintenance (housekeeping).</li> </ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent.</li> <li>Oracle Certified Professional a must</li> <li>MS SQL database experience is an added advantage</li> <li>Experience in setting up and maintaining Database Security controls is an added advantage</li> <li>Experience in configuring and conducting Database backup and recovery procedures using different tools such as RMAN is an added advantage</li> <li>Knowledge of MySQL an added advantage</li> <li>Knowledge of Oracle RAC implementation and Grid infrastructure an added advantage</li> <li>Knowledge of Linux or Solaris Operating System an added advantage</li> <li>At least 3 years post qualification experience is a must.</li> <li>Knowledge of Hadoop, Apache Hive and Scala (Kafka, Apache Spark).</li> </ul>
