The incumbent will be responsible to the MIS & Business Processes Manager
Basic Function
Responsible for evaluating existing processes and configuring telecommunications systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the telecommunications processes. Process improvement analyst achieves this by utilizing continuous improvement techniques.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Process Improvement
- Evaluate, develop and implement new and emerging technologies leading to business process improvements, telecommunications process improvements that drive the highest efficiency of all operations
- Support end to end process development expertise ranging from early process definition up to process optimization
- Develop solutions for problems by innovating, designing, and developing processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation
- Tracks all quality and improvement projects at assigned facilities and regularly reports results.
- Facilitates regular reviews of quality and process improvement metrics at the site and identifies and drives projects that improve these metrics and deliver results.
- Promotes a Continuous Learning environment.
- Leads major projects and assists other project leaders to drive improvement in process metrics, targeted financial benefits, and achieve company goals
- Drives the standardization of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices.
- Assist in setting annual operational targets and help drive improvements to achieve those targets
- Conduct training company-wide on continuous processes improvement.
Continuous Improvement Tools
- Act as a technical resource in Continuous Improvement Tools to network and PIP project leaders: Lean Systems, Six-Sigma, 5S/6S, Kaizen Events, Value Stream Maps, Problem-Solving, etc., and assist in their implementation in an efficient manner for individual projects
- Leads, mentors, and facilitates associates in the use of process improvement methodologies such as Lean Management
- Leads cross-facility projects to share best practices and improve standardization across the organization.
- Continually strive to reduce process variation (improve process capability) to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to manufacturing standards.
Business Improvement
- Performs moderate to complex analyses of business goals, objectives and needs within the general business environment
- Leads cross-functional projects to drive improvement in process metrics, targeted financial benefits, and achieve company goals
- Lead cost reduction initiatives through materials, product, and process improvements; assist the project teams to hold brainstorming sessions and develop action plans for the Profit Improvement Process (PIP), including activities to reduce utilities consumption, turnaround times, downtime, material usage variance, etc.
Human Resources
- Supervise students or newer colleagues offering advice where required.
- Responsible for work allocation and supervision for junior members of staff.
- Responsible for staff development through either 1:1 training or supporting training/continuous professional development sessions within the organization.
Qualifications / Experience
- Business Degree/Computer Science/Information System/Telecommunications
- Any Process Improvement Qualification (e.g. Lean Management)
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in the telecommunications in a similar or related role
