The Legal Officer shall be responsible for handling the Group legal matters, contracts, agreements and monitoring and/or advising on all legal matters. The incumbent will also ensure that the company complies with statutory and corporate governance practices. Duties & Responsibilities Provides legal support to all units/departmental projects and job functions. Investigates causes of all litigation, collecting evidence that is permissible in a court of law and prepares all the groundwork required to fight legal cases. Ensures that all the licenses, agreements and permits of the company are valid and ensures the renewal of all legal contracts before lapsing. Drafts a wide variety of legal agreements on behalf of the company. Ensures the development of service level agreements for service support and delivery with third parties. Drafts legal submissions on all required matters Provides all such other administrative and other secretarial duties as directed by the Company Secretary. Ensures (internal & external) compliance with laid down guidelines, policies and procedures. Manages legal and litigation processes in liaison with external lawyers. Investigates and ensures corrective action on issues of non-compliance as may be required. Provides advice on corporate legal issues and business matters. Analyses and reviews legal agreements, legislation and documents for the Board. Reviews and advises management on legal implications of internal policies and procedures. Oversee all the legal implications of new projects. Reviews and drafts contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensures that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements. Undertakes legal research as requested by the company secretary Assists in developing and implementing legal projects for the company. Collects relevant background information and documentation in order to respond to legal requests on a need basis. Oversees lawsuits and acts as a chief litigator. Ensures that the company completes and submits all its legal paperwork on time. Qualifications & Experience An Honors Degree in Law At least 3 years' post-qualification relevant experience Registered with The Law Society of Zimbabwe Deep knowledge about Corporate Law
