Overall Purpose To lead the Operations team and ensure that the department is running, with a smooth efficient and effective service that meets the expectations and needs of customers and other stakeholders. Main Duties: Manages the process of servicing the client efficiently to ensure that the service is as per expectation and is as efficient and effective as possible to maximize the profit of the organisation. Provides systems for, coordinates and oversees the department to ensure compliance with Customs regulations and protection of the company bond or liability and day-to-day clearing processes. Provides the team with competent systems which ensure department processes are compliant with internal procedures. Determines the human resources required to achieve department performance expectations. Monitors existing processes and analyses their effectiveness and creates strategies to improve productivity and efficiency. Oversees, assists, trains and maintains responsibility for the preparation of Customs entries and payment of duties. Maintains a high level of energy in order to lead the various sections of the team and interdepartmental requirements Qualification Degree in Management or related field MSc in International Logistics and Supply Chain Management/MBA will be an added advantage Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in supply chain management/import and export operations with at least 2 years in a leadership role Professional Memberships: The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM). Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSAZ).
