Head of Commercial

Industrial Psychology Consultants (Pvt) Ltd has been contracted by Air Zimbabwe to assist with the recruitment and selection of a suitable candidate for the position below:

Head Commercial (Executive Director position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer)

Job Purpose

Developing and maintaining excellent marketing and business support strategies, underscoring financial prudence for competitiveness, customer relationship management, hub development and extension for organizational profitability and growth. Directing and controlling the development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s information, communication systems and distribution systems.

Main Duties:

•Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth.

•Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (e.g. expansion and business development).

•Acquire new customers and managing client relationships (new and existing), through market share enhancement.

•Collaborate with and coordinating diverse teams from marketing, sales, operations, maintenance and finance to achieve service excellence.

•Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders.

•Guarantee performance of commercial activities.

•Set out practical financial targets and budget development that ensures sustainable profitability and growth.

•Oversee all technological operations and ensuring performance to achieve set goals.

•Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of organizational strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

•A relevant business degree from a recognised University;

•Knowledge of the Civil Aviation (Air Operator Certification and Administration) regulations and other regulations and materials published by CAAZ;

•Minimum 10 years of experience in the airline industry;

•Proven 5 years of experience professional management experience in one or more of these specific areas; flight operations, commercial planning, ground operations, reservations, customer services / sales, marketing, flight technical services or finance.
