Manager Flight Operations
Overall Job Purpose
To plan, organise, lead and control the airline’s flight operations. Ensure that crews are adequately resources and that all regulatory requirements regarding the flight operations are adhered to. Responsible for the safe flight operations by airline crew.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direction and co-ordinate the activities of the Flight Operations Department.
- Maintain compliance with conditions and restrictions of the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC), applicable Regulatory requirements and standards established by Air Zimbabwe and approved by CAAZ.
- Develop annual operating plans to assure the proper allocation of resources to the Flight Operations Department.
- Ensure that flight operating procedures are established and published within the organization to achieve good maintenance practices and compliance
- Responsible for any corrective action resulting from the quality compliance monitoring or auditing of flight operations management system functions
- Establish administrative policies, procedures and objectives in support of Air Zimbabwe goals, objectives, and assure compliance with set objectives by flight operations department.
- Select, develop, motivate and appraise flight operations management personnel to ensure that Flight Operations Department goals objectives are met.
- Develop the annual budget for the Flight Operations Department and exercise control over expenditures without compromising safety and quality requirements.
- Institute adequate quality, safety and security procedures in Flight operations Department.
Qualifications and experience:
- An appropriate recognized Air Transport Pilot License/degree/diploma or equivalent.
- Extensive experience of leading flight operations activities at management level.
- Sound experience and/ or appreciation of general management principles.
- A visionary strategist and leader who is results driven.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience of which 3 years must have been at managerial level.
