Overall Job Purpose The Head - Business Development will identify the organization’s business opportunities, market demand, gaps, and short & midterm strategies and generate insights and strategies to help inform; research & marketing of tobacco. The incumbent will also oversee any active tobacco programs. Main Duties and Responsibilities: STRATEGY FORMULATION AND IMPLEMENTATION •Spearheading TIMB’s business strategy formulation processes •Adopting a well-structured approach for opportunity assessment and strategy definition •Work with the TIMB’s business units to the furtherance of TIMB vision and initiatives •Aligning departmental goals, processes and resource allocation to be in line with the overall organizational strategy RESEARCH AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT •Oversees and coordinates research and development initiatives to meet the organizational needs of TIMB as well as developing and maintaining new markets and products •Evaluate New Business opportunities, advance strategic projects, and provide recommendations that will drive TIMB mandate. •Planning, implementing and managing proposed recommendations and projects. EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT •Collaborates and builds relationships with, public and private sector partners and other stakeholders in carrying out the mandate TIMB as defined by the Tobacco Industry Marketing Act and TIMB’s strategy •Participates in the compilation and dissemination of information regarding TIMB’s vision, mission, objectives and projects to all stakeholders •Participates in the establishment of relationships and collaborations with private and public sector partners and other stakeholders in line with the mandate of TIMB FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT •Development of departmental budgets ensuring that all strategic initiatives and business development costs are accurately incorporated. BOARD SUPPORT SERVICES •Prepares and submits monthly and quarterly reports to immediate superior in line for onward reporting to the Board
