COMPLIANCE OFFICER : GROUP COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the above mentioned position.

The successful incumbents will be responsible for the following:-

  • Creating and maintaining a culture of Compliance within the Group.
  • Establishing, implementing and evaluating compliance programmes within the Group.
  • Conducting training on compliance throughout the Group.
  • Ensuring that the Group is operating within regulatory and statutory requirements of respective regulatory bodies.
  • Advising the Group’s departments and units on compliance management issues.
  • Liaising with Group Business Risk and Group Internal Audit in respect of enterprise-wide risk management requirements.
  • Carrying out Compliance monitoring in departments and units and issuing reports
  • Preparing board reports for the respective SBUs on Compliance status on a quarterly basis or on an incidental reporting basis.
  • Researching on latest Compliance regulatory requirements and practices and making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
  • Liaising with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) issues, including the submission of Suspicious Transactions Reports (STRs).

Skills Required

  • Knowledge of commercial law and regulations
  • Understanding of business operations
  • Must have quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must have good presentation and report writing skills
  • Must have good organizing skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.

Qualifications and attributes

  • A law degree.
  • IOBZ Diploma an added advantage
  • At least 2 years experience in lending, credit management, or Risk/ Compliance management
  • A high level of computer literacy
  • Eager to pursue a career in the field of compliance
