COMPLIANCE OFFICER : GROUP COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the above mentioned position.
The successful incumbents will be responsible for the following:-
- Creating and maintaining a culture of Compliance within the Group.
- Establishing, implementing and evaluating compliance programmes within the Group.
- Conducting training on compliance throughout the Group.
- Ensuring that the Group is operating within regulatory and statutory requirements of respective regulatory bodies.
- Advising the Group’s departments and units on compliance management issues.
- Liaising with Group Business Risk and Group Internal Audit in respect of enterprise-wide risk management requirements.
- Carrying out Compliance monitoring in departments and units and issuing reports
- Preparing board reports for the respective SBUs on Compliance status on a quarterly basis or on an incidental reporting basis.
- Researching on latest Compliance regulatory requirements and practices and making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
- Liaising with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) issues, including the submission of Suspicious Transactions Reports (STRs).
Skills Required
- Knowledge of commercial law and regulations
- Understanding of business operations
- Must have quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have good presentation and report writing skills
- Must have good organizing skills
- Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
Qualifications and attributes
- A law degree.
- IOBZ Diploma an added advantage
- At least 2 years experience in lending, credit management, or Risk/ Compliance management
- A high level of computer literacy
- Eager to pursue a career in the field of compliance
