Compliance Officer

<p><strong>COMPLIANCE OFFICER : GROUP COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT</strong></p> <p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the above mentioned position.</p> <p><strong>The successful incumbents will be responsible for the following:-</strong></p> <ul> <li>Creating and maintaining a culture of Compliance within the Group.</li> <li>Establishing, implementing and evaluating compliance programmes within the Group.</li> <li>Conducting training on compliance throughout the Group.</li> <li>Ensuring that the Group is operating within regulatory and statutory requirements of respective regulatory bodies.</li> <li>Advising the Group&rsquo;s departments and units on compliance management issues.</li> <li>Liaising with Group Business Risk and Group Internal Audit in respect of enterprise-wide risk management requirements.</li> <li>Carrying out Compliance monitoring in departments and units and issuing reports</li> <li>Preparing board reports for the respective SBUs on Compliance status on a quarterly basis or on an incidental reporting basis.</li> <li>Researching on latest Compliance regulatory requirements and practices and making recommendations for improvement where necessary.</li> <li>Liaising with the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) on Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) issues, including the submission of Suspicious Transactions Reports (STRs).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills Required</strong></p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of commercial law and regulations</li> <li>Understanding of business operations</li> <li>Must have quantitative and qualitative analytical skills</li> <li>Must have excellent interpersonal skills</li> <li>Must have good presentation and report writing skills</li> <li>Must have good organizing skills</li> <li>Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications and attributes</strong></p> <ul> <li>A law degree.</li> <li>IOBZ Diploma an added advantage</li> <li>At least 2 years experience in lending, credit management, or Risk/ Compliance management</li> <li>A high level of computer literacy</li> <li>Eager to pursue a career in the field of compliance</li> </ul>
