Chief Executive Officer

<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Creating and implementing the Vision, Mission and Strategic Plans of the organisation in consultation with Industry Stakeholders, Government, Local/International Research Institutions and other players ensuring that the organisation plays its role in the realization of Government of Zimbabwe&rsquo;s Vision 2030.</li> <li>Undertaking research programmes that ensure that Zimbabwean FCV tobacco remains in demand in global tobacco markets taking into account Sustainable Tobacco Production protocols and a corporate culture of sustainability premised on ESG (environment, social, and governance aspects).</li> <li>Providing Leadership to a vibrant team of researchers on tobacco and alternate crops to tobacco including review of research papers as well as commercial activities of the organisaion.</li> <li>Ensuring compliance with Government of Zimbabwe laws and policies and other International protocols.</li> <li>Liaison and communication with government and other stakeholders that include tobacco growers, tobacco merchants and other players in the Industry, agrochemical companies and the general public.</li> <li>Implementing a communication and extension strategy that ensures growers adopt sustainable production practices for tobacco, rotational crops and alternate crops.</li> <li>Exploring the external environment and Industry developments for growth opportunities.</li> <li>Ensuring adequate funding for organisations operations.</li> <li>Assessing and monitoring risks to the organisation and coming up with mitigatory measures.</li> <li>Maintaining a cordial and productive work environment that fosters employee engagement and growth.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications and Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in the field of Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Natural Sciences or Business Studies/Administration.</li> <li>A Masters&rsquo; degree/PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification in the above areas will be an added advantage.</li> <li>At least 10 years of relevant experience of which 5 years should be at executive level</li> </ul>
