Responsibilities/ Duties:
- Participating in the formulation and implementation of policies, processes, and procedures, including handling all legal matters.
- Managing all the activities of the legal department to ensure alignment with the corporate strategy.
- Monitoring the implementation of departmental plans, and reports on progress and performance.
- Ensuring the organisation is fully compliant with all statutory requirements in its operations.
- Collaborating and building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Representing the organisation in legal forums as assigned from time to time.
- Submitting monthly, and quarterly reports on the department’s performance.
- Establishing and maintains professional links with relevant professional bodies for continuous development.
- Developing and implementing appropriate policies, systems, processes and procedures for providing legal services.
- Managing all litigations brought before the courts of law, tribunals, external administrative hearings or investigative bodies.
- Acting as a legal advisor to the board and management.
- Ensuring that the department complies with the organization’s HR policies and procedures.
- Coordinating and facilitating development and capacity building activities for staff within the department.
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of staff within the department in line with set performance targets.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor of Laws Honours degree
- Must be registered to practice law in Zimbabwe.
- Must have a minimum of six (6) years post qualification experience, three (3) years of which must be in a management position.
