Responsibilities/ Duties:

  • Assessing product quality levels across all product lines on offer, and providing constructive feedback on analytical findings, and providing recommendations to attend to standard compliance redress.
  • Identifying, examining and proposing foresaid scope developmental aspects and related formulation of proposed improvement ideas i.e., this would be production related.
  • Overseeing the production function in your shift and coordinating the daily activities of commensurate team members to adequately discharge functional needs.
  • Providing effective training towards all relevant staff members and developing team member strength and discharge efficacy.
  • Participating in production departmental staff appraisals.
  • Participating in the development of “product staff training sessions” and roll out of training materials to relevant staff.
  • Overseeing operation of automated machinery to ensure maintenance of specified quality standards and production schedules.
  • Conducting employee training in equipment operations, work and safety procedures and document the evidence by completing training registers.
  • Keeping an inventory of all items in the stores and ensures that no items are missing from the stores.
  • Keeping records of employee attendance and worked hours.
  • Monitoring the cleanliness of the bakery and ensuring that each operative leaves his workstation clean for the following shift. Further, ensuring that the premises (both inside and outside) are always clean and order prevails in the way pallets etc are stacked.
  • Interpreting job specifications, job orders and company policies and procedures for employees.
  • Accounting for all ingredients and final product quality and quantity.
  • Setting up and adjusting machines and equipment and maintaining operations data such as the dough sheet and preparing management reports of production results.
  • Conferring with management to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
  • Assisting in conducting Risk Assessments, Standard Operating Procedures, Planned General Inspections, Behaviour Safety Observations.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science / National Diploma in Bakery Studies.
  • At least 2 years of work experience in a supervisory role.
