Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in the development of the OAG corporate plan.
- Liaises with Government Institutions and other stakeholders on behalf of the Auditor-General (AG) on audit related matters.
- Assists the AG in formulation and evaluation of policies.
- Champions the organizational vision and mission and promote adherence to the OAG values and code of conduct.
- Leads the process of overall audit risk profiling and the preparation of the annual overall audit plan.
- Provides technical guidance and resolving differences in opinions which may arise during the audit process.
- Carries out final review of the individual audit reports and annual audit report for the AG’s consideration.
- Follows up the implementation of the audit directives and or technical guidance issued by the AG.
- Provides the information required by the Parliament of Zimbabwe consistent with the provisions of the Audit Office Act and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ HND in Accounting is a must.
- The ideal candidate must have an Accounting/Auditing professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, (ICAZ)).
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent Master’s degree.
- 15 years’ proven experience gained in auditing, 7 of which should be at senior management level and at least 4 years as Partner or Director of audit.
