Our Client is for a qualifies and experiences Head of Operations and incumbent will be responsible for ensuring effective formulation and implementation of microfinance bank operations structures, policies and procedure manuals, day to day back office operations and administration functions for the microfinance bank.

Major Roles and Responsibilities

  • Designing of the appropriate ICT operations systems, back office processes and procedures.
  • Participate in all the ICT systems procurement, testing and implementation processes in line with the State Procurement Board guidelines, bank objectives and RBZ requirements.
  • Formulate the bank’s policies and customer friendly processes and procedures manuals.
  • Ensure Bank Registration on all relevant industry association memberships.
  • Put systems and processes for handling the branch roll out plan.
  • Monitor and supervise daily operations to ensure free flowing of processes.
  • Develop and enforce sound policies and structures for the growth of the microfinance Bank.
  • Create a strong workforce by developing competent individuals in the banking operations team.
  • Oversee the processing of centralized loans and other banking activities to ensure due process, accuracy and accountability are adhered to.
  • Create and implement long term business plan to ensure continuity of business operations in the long run.
  • Ensure client data is protected from the public and secured against fraud by enforcing access rights and verification levels.
  • Develop financial back up plans to protect business operations in the event of major crises that could result in huge losses.
  • Collaborate with heads of other units to develop best practices for successful banking operations.
  • Ability to delegate

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • Detailed knowledge of Banking procedures and policy principles at all levels.
  • Thorough knowledge of Operational routine in Banks.
  • Detailed understanding of Risk, Credit analysis and Principles of Lending and Credit Operations.
  • Thorough knowledge of Cash Management, Account Services, Clearing and Payment functions.
  • Extensive knowledge of microfinance business is a must.
  • Analytical and practical understanding of workflow, capacity planning / optimisation and process implementation.
  • Leadership skills, team management, developing and mentoring
