MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:


To carry out quantity surveying services under the direction of the Partners and Supervisors and to train as a Quantity Surveyor. A Quantity Surveyor’s role includes offering expert advice on all commercial aspects of construction or property developments including management of costs and contractual matters.


 


KEY TASKS AND DUTIES



  • Typically, the surveyor, under the direction of the Partners and the Senior Associates, or

  • other designated supervisor, will be expected to assist with the following duties:

  • Estimating and cost planning

  • Procurement advice

  • Tender document preparation

  • Tender reporting

  • Contract administration and cost control

  • Interim valuations

  • Cost reporting

  • Final account preparation,

  • Contract and dispute advice

  • Carrying out Employer’s Agent / Contract Administrator / Project Manager

  • duties.

  • Appointment and co-ordination of other consultants

  • To attend meetings and undertake site visits.

  • This list is not exhaustive.

  • Tasks will be allocated to reflect increasing levels of development and experience.


 


Academic Qualifications



  • Minimum Academic Requirements – BSc Hons Quantity Surveying with a 2:1

  • No prior experience.

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills

  • Good IT skills with competency at Microsoft Word and Excel

  • To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate

  • To be good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team.

  • To be self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative
