MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
\r\n\r\nTo carry out quantity surveying services under the direction of the Partners and Supervisors and to train as a Quantity Surveyor. A Quantity Surveyor’s role includes offering expert advice on all commercial aspects of construction or property developments including management of costs and contractual matters.
\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
KEY TASKS AND DUTIES
\r\n\r\n- \r\n
- Typically, the surveyor, under the direction of the Partners and the Senior Associates, or \r\n
- other designated supervisor, will be expected to assist with the following duties: \r\n
- Estimating and cost planning \r\n
- Procurement advice \r\n
- Tender document preparation \r\n
- Tender reporting \r\n
- Contract administration and cost control \r\n
- Interim valuations \r\n
- Cost reporting \r\n
- Final account preparation, \r\n
- Contract and dispute advice \r\n
- Carrying out Employer’s Agent / Contract Administrator / Project Manager \r\n
- duties. \r\n
- Appointment and co-ordination of other consultants \r\n
- To attend meetings and undertake site visits. \r\n

- Tasks will be allocated to reflect increasing levels of development and experience. \r\n

Academic Qualifications
\r\n\r\n- \r\n
- Minimum Academic Requirements – BSc Hons Quantity Surveying with a 2:1 \r\n
- No prior experience. \r\n

- A track record in academic achievement. \r\n
- An ability to achieve demanding time and quality targets. \r\n
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills \r\n
- Good IT skills with competency at Microsoft Word and Excel \r\n
- A willingness to attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques \r\n
- and skills. \r\n
- To have good spoken and written communication skills \r\n
- To be methodical, pay attention to detail and be accurate \r\n
- To be good at working with people at all levels and willing to work in a team. \r\n
- To be self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative \r\n
