Main purpose of the job
To plan, direct and control all communications, including digital media and sponsorships around the organisation, its brands and the corporate to ensure a strategic fit between the organisation’s offerings and market requirements at optimal performance.
Description of tasks
- Develop, execute and track product/service/promotion communications plan to the market
- Manage all information gaps in the organisation’s products/services.
- Ensure the use of appropriate channels for targeted market segments.
- Ensure organisation visibility in contemporary media including digital and social media.
- Manage the brand portfolio and equity in the market.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with service vendors, advertising agencies, media and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular research to verify customer needs and maintain product/service fit.
- Ensure the organisation has the required share of market awareness for its offerings.
- Ensure all the organisation’s products/services are adequately visible in the distribution channels.
- Serve as a lead point on all media interactions.
- Generate newsworthy events and articles to maintain an acceptable level of presence in the media.
- Promote a positive environment through active corporate social responsibility efforts.
Person Specification
- Degree in Business Management/Marketing/Communication Science/ Public Relations
- MBA with a major in Marketing Management will be an added advantage
- Professional Marketing Management qualification e.g. Post Graduate Diploma
- Ability to communicate at all levels for both written and oral
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Ability to work under enormous amounts of pressure.
- Excellent PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.
