Main Duties:

  • Oversees the development, implementation and review of security policy of the Company
  • Draws Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Loss Control department.
  • Assist the Business Managers in risk identification and profiling of bad debtors/defaulters in the Company inputs scheme. Create a database of defaulters in liaison with other players in the Industry and make use of the tool in subsequent
  • disbursements.
  • Provide an oversight role in the Growers Scheme by carrying out periodic inspections/evaluations of the process (inputs disbursements, Crop assessments and projections) report anomalies picked.
  • Ensure that inputs disbursed are received by the true beneficiaries in the correct quantities. Investigate anomalies/variances noted and compile a report for escalation to the Managing Director.
  • Preparation of a Security budget and attend to logistical requirements for the security department and drawing up security work plans and programs for the Company.
  • Carrying out security surveys and audits for Depots and all buying points to determine the physical and operational security requirements.
  • Investigating all cases of suspected fraud, theft, sabotage and other forms of misconduct and submit investigation reports.
  • Ensuring security vetting of prospective employees through the Criminal Investigations Department and other relevant Authorities.
  • Deciding on the appropriate treatment of investigated cases- i.e. referrals to police or dealing with them internally.
  • Liaising with law enforcement agencies and relevant government departments.
  • Attend Court on behalf of the Company and follow up on matters reported to the police and at the courts of law.
  • Compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual security reports for transmission to the Managing Director.
  • Overseeing and supervising work of contracted security companies and decide on deployment of such security resources
  • Performing special examinations or investigations as directed by the Managing Director.
  • Promoting security and risk control consciousness
  • Enforcing the maintenance of peace, law and order within the company.
  • Assist in coordinating the emergency preparedness system.
  • Ensure kitting of guards, replacement of deserves and to correct numbers are maintained at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Sciences.
  • A minimum of 7 years relevant experience as a Security/Police Officer with at least 3 years in a senior supervisory/managerial capacity.
