Direct and control the staff of the Construction Department to ensure that they are appropriately trained and motivated to carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.
Plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost effective manner.
Oversee all onsite and offsite construction projects and monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
Motivate staff by demonstrating an inclusive approach to involving everyone in decisions that affect them.
Prepare, monitor and control the budget for the Construction Department to ensure optimum use of resources and that all necessary financial controls are in place to comply with the Company’s regulatory requirements.
Personally contribute and work with others to achieve outstanding quality construction and exceptional delivery of customer service.
Meet contractual conditions of performance
Review work progress on daily basis
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licences
Create and maintain relations with suppliers and customers
Select tools, material and equipment and track inventory
Monitor feedback from customers to measure their satisfaction with final products.
Monitor efficiencies and identify areas for improvement.
Conduct performance appraisals for staff.
Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
Ensure adherence to health and safety standards

Requirements
BSc degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field
