Qualifications & Experience Five ‘O’ level passes including Mathematics and English at Grade B or better. Apprenticeship trained class 1. Technical training in Steam Generation and Distribution required. (Boiler Operator Certificate) Proficient working knowledge of MS Office. At least 5 years’ practical relevant experience in steam generation A minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position Duties & Responsibilities Directly responsible for the coordination and supervision of all boiler operations and activities. Checks daily logs to determine proper operation of equipment. Prepares daily and monthly reports of boiler resources usage and efficiencies. Makes estimates of labour and or materials required for production and maintenance. Directly responsible for critical spares and raising requisitions. Identifies staff development and recommends training needs. Ensures compliance to company and government regulating policies and procedures. Ensures a safe and healthy working environment at all times. Core Competencies: Knowledge of boiler plant and auxiliary systems operations. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems in steam distribution systems. Proficiency in metal fabrication, with the ability to use power tools and hand tools well. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others. Ability to make decisions under pressure and to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
