Overall Job Purpose:
- To perform effective risk management and plan the organisation’s financial strategy.
- To protect the company’s revenues and profits to achieve full financial control and sustainable growth
- Plan, develop and direct the implementation ofpolicies and management of the execution of all support divisions (direct reports) which include, Finance and Administration, Information and Technology and Banking operations
- Promoting Financial Inclusion through development and wide distribution of appropriate and fairly priced (affordable and accessible) products and services
Principal Accountabilities:
- Drive the bank’s financial planning, budgeting, controlling and reporting processes
- Establish the bank’s accounting and finance policy and ensure proper implementation
- Ensure the achievement of the set budgets and targets
- Perform risk management by analysing the organization’s liabilities and investments
- Decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
- Provide overall leadership to the ICT team and ensure that the office has reliable, sufficient connectivity and the organization’s information systems and that information resource are adequately protected.
- Ensure improved office/programs connectivity
- Facilitate and ensure preparation of and adherence to computer usage policies
- Ensure office disaster preparedness and policies updated to include new technologies, trends and threats.
- Control and evaluate the organization’s fundraising plans and capital expenditure
- Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
- Supervising all finance personnel (controllers, treasurers, financial analysts etc.)
- Manage vendor relationships
- Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
- Setup and oversee the company’s finance IT system
- Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify needs and seek full range of business
Academic and Professional Qualifications
- Accountancy degree and professional qualification (CA, CIMA or ACCA)
- Master’s degree in business administration , leadership or Finance is an added advantage
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience at Management level ofwhich at leasttwo years must be as Chief Finance Officerpreferably within the Financial services sector
Experience
- Proven experience as a Chief Finance Officer
- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- An analytical mind and comfortable with numbers
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financials management software (e.g. SAP)
- Ability to strategize and solve problems
