Director Agribusiness

Industrial Psychology Consultants (Pvt) Ltd has been contracted by the Agricultural Marketing Authority to assist with the recruitment and selection of a suitable candidate for each of the positions below: Director Agribusiness Job Purpose The Director of Agribusiness, under the oversight of the Chief Executive Officer, manages staff of the Department and plans, organizes, supervises and directs the work to ensure efficient and effective attainment of organizational goals. Duties and Responsibilities: •To establish competitive commodity value chains through market linkages for crop commodities and livestock and promote local industry and promote export of quality crops and livestock; •To design business linkages programme for farmers of horticultural produce and livestock in accessing markets by enhancing the productive capacities, enhancing compliance with technical requirements and by promoting certification; •To identify and create new revenue streams for the Authority as set out in the AMA Act. •To undertake of training programmes for farmers through: •To create various partnerships and collaboration with development partners, industry, academia and government departments; •To design and facilitate the implementation of the development schemes such as horticultural export programmes, commodity clusters and irrigation schemes. •To undertake any other assignments assigned by the Chief Executive Officer. Qualifications and Experience •Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Economics, or any related field; •Post graduate qualification such as MBA, MSC or equivalent. •Minimum eight (8) years of demonstrated experience in AgriBusiness is a must.
