Director Television, News and Current Affairs

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Formulating strategy and giving direction and leadership to television, news, and current affairs.

•Defining news, television & current affairs' overall editorial and strategic direction.

•Ensuring that content for television and news meets the required standards.

•Accountable for news & current affairs performance against strategic objectives and metrics as set out in the annual plan.

•Ensuring compliance with broadcasting policies and statutory provisions on news coverage.

•Providing editorial and creative leadership and inspiration to news, television & current affairs to enhance its services' strength, depth, and quality.

•Formulating strategies that contribute to the overall success of the organization.

•Ensuring robust, documented business continuity and risk management processes are in place.

•Creating an environment that attracts the most creative and diverse staff.

•Implementing strategies to understand audience requirements and action plans to meet them.

•Infusing digital technology trends in leading the Division.

Qualifications and Experience:

•BSc in Journalism/Communication or Broadcasting

•At least 10 years of relevant experience, of which 5 must have been at the managerial level .

•A master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage
