Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Shipping Manager, the incumbent is responsible for supervising the administration and ensuring efficient movement of materials in and out of the country in accordance with organisational policy and procedure, and to comply with relevant local, country and international law and process.
Main Duties
- To ensure that sales documentation are prepared according to Company and Customer specifications
- To ensure that sales documentation is free from error before authorisation
- Liaises with production and warehouse departments to ensure product availability
- Works closes with the regulatory bodies ensuring 100% compliance
- Monitors and checks documentation as prepared by Clearing Agents
- Maintains the Bonded and Inward Processing Registers
- Produces Shipment reports as scheduled
- Monitors shipment costs
- Supervises Shipping department staff
Qualifications & Experience
- First degree in Supply Chain Management and/or Logistics at class; 2.1 or better
- Relevant supply chain/shipment management Diploma
- Minimum 5 years shipping/export experience (knowledge of shipping/exporting tobacco or any other cash crop is a MUST)
- Supervisory Management qualification or experience

- Knowledge of Customs and Excise Act
- Knowledge of RBZ Act/regulations and finance Act with regards to Imports and Exports
