Primary Duties
- Equipment Oversight: Supervise the operation of small plant equipment, including generators, plate compactors, jumping jacks, pedestrian rollers, vibrators and water pumps ensuring safe and efficient use
- Maintenance Coordination: Organise and oversee routine maintenance and repairs of small equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Scheduling and Allocation: Develop and manage work schedules for operators and maintenance staff to ensure optimal equipment availability and utilisation.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of small plant equipment and spare parts, coordinating procurement as needed to maintain operational readiness.
- Training and Guidance: Provide training and support to equipment operators and maintenance personnel at project sites on safe operating procedures and equipment handling.
- Performance Reporting: Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and incidents, reporting regularly to the SHT Controller.
Academic Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent/technical certification in equipment maintenance or a related field is preferred.
Professional Qualifications:
- Diploma in Motor Mechanics – Class 1/2
Years of Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in the operation and management of small tools equipment within the construction industry.
Additional Training Required
- Training in safety standards and regulations (SHEQ).
- Certification in small equipment operation and maintenance practices.
