The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality management systems within a wet production environment processing beef and chicken. The role ensures full compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards while driving continuous improvement across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all food safety and quality assurance systems within the wet production plant
- Ensure compliance with local and international food safety standards (HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC, GMP, SOPs)
- Oversee raw material, in-process, and finished product quality for beef and chicken operations.
- Manage audits (internal, external, regulatory, and customer) and close out corrective actions
- Monitor hygiene, sanitation, and environmental controls in wet processing areas
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality incidents
- Train and coach production teams on food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
- Manage QA documentation, records, specifications, and traceability systems
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to embed quality at every stage
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance within a wet food production environment
- Proven experience with beef and/or poultry processing
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety legislation, and audit processes
- Experience managing QA teams in a high-volume production environment
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
