The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality management systems within a wet production environment processing beef and chicken. The role ensures full compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards while driving continuous improvement across the plant.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage all food safety and quality assurance systems within the wet production plant
  • Ensure compliance with local and international food safety standards (HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC, GMP, SOPs)
  • Oversee raw material, in-process, and finished product quality for beef and chicken operations.
  • Manage audits (internal, external, regulatory, and customer) and close out corrective actions
  • Monitor hygiene, sanitation, and environmental controls in wet processing areas
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality incidents
  • Train and coach production teams on food safety, hygiene, and quality standards
  • Manage QA documentation, records, specifications, and traceability systems
  • Work closely with Production, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to embed quality at every stage

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance within a wet food production environment
  • Proven experience with beef and/or poultry processing
  • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food safety legislation, and audit processes
  • Experience managing QA teams in a high-volume production environment
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
