Duties and Responsibilities:

Formulates and implements procurement strategies in line with the organization’s business strategy.

Prepares annual and individual procurement plans.

Oversees the procurement of goods, services and works in accordance with the regulations.

Prepares bidding documents in accordance with the PPDPA Act and regulations.

Manages procurement contracts.

Designs procurement policies and Standard Operating Procedures.

Advises the Accounting Officer and the Procurement Management Unit on procurement matters.

Manages the daily operations and supervises staff in the Procurement Management Unit.

Supervises the Evaluation committee and opening of bids.

Develops effective relationships with suppliers and internal sections.

Produces relevant procurement reports monthly, quarterly, and annually.

Liaises with the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe on all procurement matters.


Qualifications and Experience

A BSc Degree in Procurement/Purchasing & Supply Chain Management or equivalent.

A diploma in Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is a must.

A Master’s Degree is an added advantage.

Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).

At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role preferably in the public sector.
