Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Industrial Relations Officer. The role is responsible for maintaining workplace harmony, assist in availing information for works council, ensuring strict compliance with Zimbabwean labour statutes, and handling disciplinary and grievance procedures. The role balances legal compliance with human-centric dispute resolution to protect the organisational’s operational continuity.
Experience Required:
2 years’ experience in the relevant field.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure all internal human resource policies, procedures, and conditions of employment are strictly aligned with the provisions of the Labour Laws.
Ensure compliance with the provisions of relevant statutory instruments.
Provide guidance to non-managerial staff regarding the interpretation and application of the Organisation’s internal code of conduct.
Track updates in labour trends and legislative amendments to proactively recommend adjustments to employment contracts and internal policies.
Assist in arranging election for worker leadership representatives and facilitating induction and training for elected office bearers.
Assist in the formulation of employee relations policies framework and procedures.
Assist in coordinating disciplinary hearings, ensuring strict adherence to both procedural and substantive fairness and manage the documentation and timelines for internal appeals.
Manage statutory timelines diligently, ensuring cases are handled within legal prescription limits from the date an offense is discovered.
Assist in timeous update of the codes of conduct in fulfilment of the labour laws.
Assists in managing the cafeteria's day-to-day operations, ensuring timely meal service, and conducting periodic stock takes and food drawdowns.
Coordinates all Sports Club activities and internal requests for cafetria and related services.
Skills and Competencies:
Sound Knowledge of the Labour Laws
Good communication and report writing skills.
