Duties & Responsibilities
- To support the company in complying with legislation and living the SHE policy
- Provide specialist environmental advice in respect of long and short term mining/road/housing plans
- Handling of environmental-related legal documentation for infrastructure development
- Assist operations with implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001
- Compile and submit all legally required licenses and permits
- Participate in environmental management issues to ensure the optimal utilisation of resources and lowest total cost of ownership
- Ensure effective environmental risk identification and management at operations
- Attend meetings and forums to ensure effective corporate governance
- Liaise with the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and license conditions
- Support decision-makers on the implementation of environmental policy and legislation
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc/Diploma in Environmental Management or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental management
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation
- Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001)
- Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Management
