Accountant

Main duties and responsibilities

§ Preparation of periodic management accounts

§ Preparation of annual financial statements

§ Budgeting and budgetary control

§ Prepare quarterly financial performance board reports.

§ Establish robust risk and financial control systems that ensure accurate reporting.

§ Review of various reconciliations that include bank & general ledger recs.

§ Compile periodic tax and other regulatory returns.

§ Review of monthly audit file, preparation of annual audit file and management of the external audit process

Academic Qualification and Technical Competence

§ A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or full

§ ACCA/CIMA will be an added advantage

§ Must demonstrate working knowledge of IFRS

§ At least 2 years’ supervisory experience in an accounting department

§ Working knowledge of Sage Evolution and Pastel Partner is a pre-requisite

§ Attention to detail

§ Must be able to communicate at all levels

§ Ability to meet set deadlines

§ Ability to work with minimum supervision
