Overall Job Purpose The CEO is accountable for leading the business through the initiation and implementation of strategies to unlock its full potential through the effective utilization of the material, financial and human resources, and supervision of all operational units. Main Duties and Responsibilities Developing the Vision, Mission and Values to guide the organisation and ensuring the vision is in sync with shareholder vision and organisation expectation. Formulate medium and long term business strategic plans for the institution in order to properly manage the business. Develop and present to the business corporate plan and ensure the Board appreciates and approves thereby provide the necessary support Ensure that the business develops the action items to support the strategic initiatives and inform the budgeting process. Generate revenue as planned and agreed through implementing an effective and robust performance management system. Ensure periodic revision of fees and levy levels applied in the tobacco industry to ensure sustained relevance and generation of adequate revenue to meet the TIMB budget. Generate the planned revenue budgets and communicate with the respective executives and agree to ensure divisions are resourced adequately to ensure that it is self-sustaining. Understand, manage and predict the external environmental factors and landscape that will impact the business including the following factors: political, social, economic, technology, competition, environment and legal. Assess the principal risks of the company and ensures that these risks are monitored and managed. Fully understand the offering of the current technology platform and ensure the application of best practice to deliver value in the most cost-effective manner. Ensure that the business is structured to deliver the agreed business strategies in the most efficient manner. Qualifications and Experience Relevant University Degree in Agriculture, Crop science / Botany / Business Administration, Economics, / Equivalent An MBA or any other relevant Master’s Degree is an added advantage At least 7 years of experience in a senior management position 10-12 years’ of experience in the tobacco industry is an added advantage Membership to a Professional Body
