Industrial Psychology Consultants (Pvt) Ltd has been contracted by Air Zimbabwe to assist with the recruitment and selection of a suitable candidate for the position below:

Head of Operations Executive Director position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer)

Job Purpose

Responsible for directing and coordinating technical and flight operations to ensure the provisions of safe and airworthy equipment to meet organizational objectives in accordance with internal, local and international civil aviation requirements.

Main Duties:

•Maintain the flight operations departments to ensure airworthy, safe and efficient operations;

•Develop and enforce of company policies for ensuring compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations governing those flight and maintenance activities;

•Establish and maintain a close working relationship with the Civil Aviation Authority in Zimbabwe and other regulatory authorities;

•Assist the CEO and the Board in short-, medium- and long-term planning relating to equipment, modification of existing equipment to improve the safety and efficiency of equipment;

•Create the maintenance policies and procedures for the organization, including how that business will meet and /or exceed regulatory rules and requirements;

•Evaluate the overall maintenance and flight operations department goals, processes, and procedures to accomplish company objectives through efficiency and effective manpower utilization;

•Ensure that all health, safety and regulations are complied with.

Qualifications and Experience

•A relevant business degree from a recognised University;

•A background in the management of commercial air transport operations, ground, flight and maintenance operations;

•Aviation industry professional qualification;

•Conversant with CAAZ, ICAO and EASA regulatory framework;

•Minimum 10 years of management experience in one or more of these specific areas; flight operations, regulatory compliance, flight technical services or maintenance repair overhaul.
