Manager Legal

Job Purpose

To provide legal guidance to the company to ensure that the company is legally sound in its operations and any potential legal threats are addresses timeously. Ensuring that board procedures are both followed and regularly reviewed.

Main Duties:

•Provide legal and corporate secretarial services to the Company, Board and all Sub-Committees.

•Ensure Board resolutions are fully implemented for the realisation of the Board’s vision and objectives.

•Conduct legal due diligence on proposed transactions, review documentation on transactions Air Zimbabwe intends to enter and advise on their legal adequacy.

•Provide appropriate legal opinions, advice, drafting and assistance on the formulation, review, enforcement and interpretation of legal documents.

•Manage the contract administration portfolio to improve performance on contracts and eliminate or reduce defaults.

•Litigation management - engaging and following on external counsel handling legal matters for and on behalf of the airline.

•Ensure good corporate governance practice by ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, statutes and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

•A Bachelor of Law degree from a recognised University;

•A relevant Master’s degree from a recognised University is an added advantage;

•Minimum 5 years of experience of which 3 years must have been at management level.
