Managing Director

Industrial Psychology Consultants (Pvt) Ltd has been retained by National Building Society to recruit a Managing Director. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above position.

Overall Job Purpose

The Managing Director is responsible for leading the development and execution of the institution’s business strategies with a view to creating shareholder value; for all day-to-day management and for implementing the institution’s strategy; acting as a direct liaison between the Board and management of the institution and communicates to the Board on behalf of management. The Managing Director also communicates on behalf of the institution to shareholders, employees, Government authorities, other stakeholders and the public.

Duties

• Leads in conjunction with the Board, the development of the institution’s strategy to maximise shareholder value and enhance the positioning of the institution.


• Leads and oversees the implementation of the institution’s strategy.


• Provides operational advice to the Board in identifying and reviewing options for private sector investment in the business.


• Establishes parameters for expanding the range of products and services and for introducing new technologies in the business.


• Designs and reviews core business processes and creates new customer segments, service charters and product and service offerings with a view of increasing market share and continually improving profitability and service delivery.


• Leads the development and implementation of an annual business plan for the company with the objective of increasing revenue and profitability.

Requirements

• Degree in Commercial Studies and a Masters degree from a reputable accredited institution.


• Member of a related professional body.


• A minimum of 10 years similar work experience, preferably in the Banking and Financial services sector.
