Duties & Responsibilities
- Carrying out EHS Risk Assessments to map out potential emergency scenarios, including potential fire outbreaks.
- Carrying out effective fire risk surveillance, including structured testing and inspection regimes & programs - ensuring all potential danger zones are inspected as per Inspection Planner.
- Ensuring that all fire hazards, fire risks and incidents are reported, recorded and fully investigated as necessary.
- Leading emergency responders in firefighting in cases of fire outbreaks.
- Supervising and delegating daily duties to emergency responders.
- Performing rescue operations, as necessary using appropriate rescue kits
- Conducting training & awareness on emergency preparedness & response to relevant interested parties, including employees / contractors / customers and visitors.
Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of 5 G.C.E. “O” level passes including Science, Mathematics and English at Grade B or better
- Should have a Recognised Certificate or Diploma in Fire Risk Management or Equivalent Qualification.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a hands-on Fire Prevention & Control Practitioner. Experience as a municipal fire brigade fire fighter & officer is a distinct advantage.
- Valid Firefighting Certificate
- Valid Advanced First Aider Certificate
