Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carrying out EHS Risk Assessments to map out potential emergency scenarios, including potential fire outbreaks.
  • Carrying out effective fire risk surveillance, including structured testing and inspection regimes & programs - ensuring all potential danger zones are inspected as per Inspection Planner.
  • Ensuring that all fire hazards, fire risks and incidents are reported, recorded and fully investigated as necessary.
  • Leading emergency responders in firefighting in cases of fire outbreaks.
  • Supervising and delegating daily duties to emergency responders.
  • Performing rescue operations, as necessary using appropriate rescue kits
  • Conducting training & awareness on emergency preparedness & response to relevant interested parties, including employees / contractors / customers and visitors.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 5 G.C.E. “O” level passes including Science, Mathematics and English at Grade B or better
  • Should have a Recognised Certificate or Diploma in Fire Risk Management or Equivalent Qualification.
  • At least 5 years’ experience as a hands-on Fire Prevention & Control Practitioner. Experience as a municipal fire brigade fire fighter & officer is a distinct advantage.
  • Valid Firefighting Certificate
  • Valid Advanced First Aider Certificate
