Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Identifies new potential growers in accordance with the laid down procedures.
- Selects and screens existing growers based on post performers
- Enters into contractual agreements with the selected growers based on the approved cropping programme.
- Co-ordinates deliveries or collections from contracted farmers.
- Conducts soil sampling and analysis as well as making fertilizer recommendations
- Organizes and training participating farmers or farmer’s groups in accordance with the laid down procedures
- Identifies potential non-contract produce suppliers based on factory requirements
- Agrees quality, volume and prices, in liaison with the procurement function
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3 years’ experience in Crop production on potatoes
- Degree in Crop Science/ Agriculture or equivalent
- Clean Class 4 drivers’ licence
- In-depth agricultural knowledge and trends
