Agronomist

<p><strong>Duties/ Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Identifies new potential growers in accordance with the laid down procedures.</li> <li>Selects and screens existing growers based on post performers</li> <li>Enters into contractual agreements with the selected growers based on the approved cropping programme.</li> <li>Co-ordinates deliveries or collections from contracted farmers.</li> <li>Conducts soil sampling and analysis as well as making fertilizer recommendations</li> <li>Organizes and training participating farmers or farmer&rsquo;s groups in accordance with the laid down procedures</li> <li>Identifies potential non-contract produce suppliers based on factory requirements</li> <li>Agrees quality, volume and prices, in liaison with the procurement function </li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>3 years&rsquo; experience in Crop production on potatoes</li> <li>Degree in Crop Science/ Agriculture or equivalent </li> <li>Clean Class 4 drivers&rsquo; licence</li> <li>In-depth agricultural knowledge and trends</li> </ul>
