Main Duties:

  • Manage earth moving machinery: bulldozers, loaders, excavators, motor graders, road rollers, tipper dump trucks and light duty vehicles
  • Procurement of spares
  • Preventative maintenance and maintenance planning
  • Improve machinery availability and minimize down time
  • Planning and delegation of duties to the workshop team
  • Team management skills including training & mentoring
  • Manage breakdowns on site and in workshop
  • Budgeting preparation and effective proactive cost control
  • Manage breakdowns on site and in workshop
  • Logistics management of plant to and from sites throughout Zimbabwe
  • Managing diesel mechanics, plant fitters, workshop administration, procurement, workshop, spares inventory
  • Logical problem solving and error detection techniques
  • Implement standard operating procedures and enhance controls

Qualifications:

  • Class 1 Journeyman Diesel Plant Fitter
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as an Earthmoving Workshop Manager
  • Computer literacy: MS Office (Excel, Word) and Buildsmart
  • Knowledge of ISO (9001, 14001 & 18001) will be an added advantage)
