Main Duties:
Planning
- Assist in the development of specifications for equipment, materials, and services to be purchased
- Translate sales/production forecasts into efficient raw materials plan.
- Provides input into supply planning function (lead times) in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products and product phase outs.
Supplier identifications & RFQ
- Invite, assess, and award/recommend supplier tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals
- Receives and reviews purchase requisition against the procurement plan and budget
- Supply market research (understand new entrants)
Order placing & management
- Process orders within purchasing authority
- Expediting of orders – local and international
- Prepare and maintain purchasing records, reports
Supplier evaluation
- Evaluate supplier capabilities per evaluation procedure.
- Carrying out periodic supplier performance evaluations (vendor rating – price, delivery levels, quality)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management, Business Studies/equivalent
- At Least 2 Years’ experience in a similar environment
- CIPS Diploma will be an added advantage
